The STX Dehydra has a timer! You might think that isn`t such a big deal, but a lot – if not most – of the food dehydrators currently on the market don`t have a timer. If you`re on the hunt for the best food dehydrator you can find – and one that meets your specific needs – pay attention to that. I personally find the lack of a timer to be a huge drawback.

The STX Dehydra is a stainless steel food dehydrator, so for those of use with all stainless steel appliances, this could be a nice addition to your kitchen, assuming of course that have the counter space to leave it out. However, a feature that is much more important than how it looks, is the fact that the STX Dehydra is a 1200 watt food dryer. This is the highest wattage food dehydrator that I have reviewed, placing it in the commercial class.

While the illustration of the Dehydra makes it look huge, it is only slightly larger than the Excalibur 3900. The Excalibur is 17 x 19 x 12, while the Dehydra measures 20 x 16 x 15. And since we are making comparisons between the two, it is important to note, that the Excalibur 3900 with all its hype and marketing behind it, only has wattage of 600.
